How can storytelling be a key tool towards car-free cities? | The case of Copenhagen

Storytelling is about telling stories, and it is about using them to engage an audience, or to make something clearer. In the transport sector, the car industry has become a master storyteller, but overall there is a lack of alternative storytelling and sustainable urban imaginaries. Have you ever thought about the role that storytelling can play in shaping successful planning processes of car-reducing or car-free initiatives? This was the master thesis subject of Wiebke Müller (Innovation Lifecycle Officer at EIT Urban Mobility) and Sine Sola Vivien Olesen (Mobility Consultant at Urban Creators). In this video, UMX travelled to Copenhagen to know more about storytelling and how creating positive stories around sustainable urban initiatives can contribute to making our cities more liveable.

Many thanks to Wiebke Müller (Innovation Lifecycle Officer at EIT Urban Mobility), Sine Sola Vivien Olesen (Mobility Consultant at Urban Creators), Malene Freudendal-Pedersen (Professor of Urban Planning at Aalborg University) and Annette Kayser (Project Manager at the City of Copenhagen) for participating in this video!
