This short course will give you an understanding of the relevance of multimodality systems. It presents the main attributes of the different modes and several examples of their presence in a sample of cities 
 
Upon completion of this course, you will understand the challenges, solutions and that their adoption as a key element in urban mobility as an instrument to give people opportunities to the access to places, other people, objects, events etc.

José M. Viegas is Professor Emeritus of the University of Lisbon, where he was Full professor of Transportation in the school of Engineering (Técnico). He was secretary-general of the International Transport Forum at the OECD from 2012 to 2017. Currently he is Chairman of the Board of TIS, the largest Portuguese transport consultancy.
