Hi, I am Udane, civil engineer and mobility consultant in the Basque Country.

As you have previously mentioned in many of the posts, the use of public transport by women is also more significant in the Basque Country. The limitation of having a private vehicle and trips associated with caring for children or the elderly (which still fall more on women) mean that these mobility patterns are maintained.

In my studies and reports I have always tried to introduce women’s perspectives, but in many cases based on my own experience as a woman. Now I am more aware that the first step towards equality is to end the lack of information between the sexes (Gender data gap).

We will continue working on it
