José Militão, 70-year-old, has been retired for almost 8 years. He and his wife, Cila Pereira, live in Oeiras, a city near Lisbon (Portugal). In January 2022, he received a free travelling pass for his service in the military. Since then, almost every day, José leaves his home and goes for a walk with no planned destiny. He just ops from transport to another, just for the fun of it. In this video, Urban Mobility Explained travelled to Portugal to meet with José and Cila, and understand how can free public transport have a positive impact on the elderly.
