You might not see it but you are generating it.

When you order a package online, when you do your groceries, when you shop in a library… a whole logistics chain has been set into motion before you get to touch the goods.

The most challenging part of this chain is the end of this logistics journey: the last mile.

In this course you will:

  • Understand the importance of the last mile in urban logistics.
  • Learn from best practices and smart solutions that make the last mile sustainable.
  • Get recommendations on how to proceed with the implementation of sustainable solutions for the last mile.

This course was co-created with VUB mobilise

Within the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, the research group Mobilise aims at accelerating the transition to a more sustainable and inclusive mobility and logistics system. Our urban mobility team analyses the behaviour of transport users and the barriers to adoption of sustainable transport modes. The sustainable logistics team focusses on research to reduce externalities by avoiding transport operations, creating awareness amongst stakeholders, anticipating new technologies and shifting goods to more sustainable transport modes.
