In this course, we explore how micromobility fits into the overall urban mobility landscape, what the opportunities and challenges are and how policies and operations could work together. The final module will look at the emerging trends that will influence the future of micromobility. Outcomes: you’ll… – understand what micromobility is and its impacts (positive and negative) on our communities. – learn which user segments are neglected and how that could be addressed through some case studies. – review all areas where policy plays a role and look at best practices – gain an overview over the trends that will impact micromobility in the near future. Bonus: You’ll walk away with a handful of downloadable guides (i.e policy best practices, impact of integrated transportation).

Sandra Phillips

Sandra’s work focuses on building healthier communities through shared mobility reducing dependency on private car ownership while increasing alternative options for everyone. Her specialty is systemic change: introducing micromobility requires a shift in mindset from linear, siloed thinking to embracing complexity and interconnectedness.She is teaching at University St. Gallen, UBC and SFU on the topic and has worked with public transit authorities, micromobility providers and cities across the world. Her work in shared mobility has garnered her a TED talk, a Clean50 and the 2021 Change Maker Award.

This course was co-created with movmi.

An interesting overview of various aspects of micromobility

I had some issues displaying the content correctly on my laptop, but otherwise the content is clear and accessible. some of the video presentation might have been smoother if the speaker had taken a second take.
